Project planning
A kitchen tile update starts with the details.
A kitchen is a room you use every day, so I like to begin with how it works for you. You may want a complete tile update, or you may simply want to repair a backsplash you already like. Either way, the small details are worth a conversation.

Let’s work with the rest of the kitchen.
Before choosing a backsplash, I look at the countertop, cabinets, lighting, and the flooring nearby. We can compare samples in that setting and see whether you prefer a quiet finish or a pattern with a little more presence.
If the cabinets or countertops are changing, tell me where you are in the process. Knowing what is staying and what is being replaced helps us plan the tile work in the right order.
Edges and stopping points deserve a plan.
Where will the backsplash end? What happens at a window, an outside corner, or the side of a cabinet? Those decisions affect how complete the finished work feels. I would rather discuss them with you before the tile is on the wall.
Outlets, fixtures, and any work by other trades need to be part of that conversation as well. We can identify what needs coordinating and include it in the project scope.
A kitchen floor needs its own conversation.
For flooring, we will look at the existing surface, the adjoining rooms, and how the layout moves through the kitchen. A product selected for a wall should not simply be assumed suitable for a floor; we need the supplier’s information for the exact tile.
The estimate should explain the agreed preparation and finishing work, along with the installation. Square footage helps, but it does not describe every part of the job.
Small backsplash repairs are welcome.
If you only need part of a backsplash repaired, please ask. I can come and take a look, consider what caused the damage, and see whether we can find a match. A spare tile, the original box, or an old invoice can be useful, but none is required to start.
I have extensive knowledge of tile and different ways to source it. Exact matches depend on what is available, so I’ll be straightforward about what we find and the options for making the repair look considered.
Let’s talk about your space.
Send a few photographs, a question, or the beginning of an idea. I’ll help you work out the next step.
